Miniature Haul! + Possible Review?

My aunt recently visited me and she bought me two products that she swears by...hoping that I would love them just as much.

These two products are:

Boots Simply Sensitive Cleansing Lotion & Gently Refreshing Toner

As my skin is super duper sensitive, I always go for fragrance free products. I am downright allergic to any product that has fragrance. I honestly am not sure if this allergy is only so intense only on my body, as when I put a scented body lotion on I get a rash the next day, or if it also is as bad on my face. I don't really want to experiment with that.

Anyways, I have been using Neutrogena's oil free makeup wipes to take off my makeup at the end of the day, but I feel like wipes don't really work to their best potential. I always feel like there is still more makeup on my face after. However, they are good for easy fixes, and when it's really late at night, or when I travel and space doesn't permit more than just a packet of wipes.

I am really excited to use these two products that I bought. Maybe a possible review will be up in a while??

Pool/Beach Essentials Summer 2015

I know it is back to school time for most people, but throughout summer I have compiled a list of beach/pool essentials. This list only consists of essential products, not beachwear.

NIVEA SUN CAROTENE SUN LOTION: I usually put this on as soon as I reach. I love this stuff, it gives me a really nice colour and it helps me tan really fast.
BUY HERE

CLAIRE'S SUNGLASSES: These are really cute, they have aztec printed legs (which you can see if you click HERE)

GARNIER AMBRRE SOLAIRE: I usually put this on myself after being in the water for a long time. You're supposed to reapply the NIVEA one on after every time you get inside the water, but I like the effect that the mix gives.

LA ROCHE POSAY ANTHELIOS AC SP 30: This is a sunscreen that my dermatologist recommended for me while I'm out in the sun. The "AC" in the name stands for acne and is made for oily skin. I don't see that this actually does any mattifying but it does protect my face very well so I do steer clear of it during the day.
BUY HERE

PINK "TOTALLY BEACHIN" MUG: I am not a big fan of making smoothies. Although I love them and would like to have one every single day, I just find that I never have the right ingredients to make one. I started using this closed mug (which, btw, holds both hot and cold water) and filling it to the top with ice, and putting a can of Ice Tea in it. The Ice Tea flavours that I have been loving lately are the Pina Colada and Daiquiri drinks*. I love this mug because it's really pretty and inspires me to stay hydrated out in the sun.

*These are named after alcoholic drinks, but contain NO ALCOHOL in them. The brand is Lipton, if anyone was wondering.

ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES BY JENNIFER NIVEN: I am still on like page 200 but I am loving it so far. It is such a cute book..
BUY HERE

TEEN VOGUE MAGAZINE: Yes, this IS the August issue. The reason this issue is in this is because I have been loving reading it at the beach when I am looking for something nice to here

Elie Saab Fall-Winter line 2015/2016 Best/Worst and favourite looks

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Who is Elie Saab?

Elie Saab is one of my all time favourite designers. His ethnicity is Lebanese, much like mine, and he doesn't often slack whilst making designs for his upcoming lines.

What is this post about?

This post is to critique his line. I will put out there that I am not a professional critic, nor am I certified in this field. HOWEVER, last summer I attended an intensive 4 week fashion design workshop. This, unfortunately, still does not make me capable of professionally critiquing actual professionals. This post is purely based on opinion. This post will talk about my favourite and my least favourite designs in the upcoming collection.

This autumn's collection goes a lot with the golden/silver/glittery trend. These dresses are perfect for weddings because who really wants to wear white to a wedding when it isn't ours?

MY FAVOURITE LOOKS:

THE WINNER -- The best look:

This dress is something I would definitely wear if I got the chance to. Although it is completely surrounded with glitters and sequins et cetera, which is not usually a look I go for, I would wear this dress with my eyes closed. My favourite aspect of this dress is the fact that it is tight at the top, inches at the waist, and, instead of going completely all out like a wedding dress, it flares lightly. A perfect flare I would say. I personally would not pair the dress with those shoes, but would rather pair it with a pair of nude stilettos, or something of the sort.

MY LEAST FAVOURITE LOOKS:

THE WINNER -- The worst look:

I honestly did not like this dress at all. I think when I first saw it I knew that it was the worst in the collection. I feel like the chevron details and the lace details clash, and the top part, where it crosses, is not flattering at all. This actually looks very similar to a wedding dress style, and I don't really like that about it. This dress just does not look that good in general in my opinion.

*I got all these pictures off of Elie Saab's official website:

This is purely my opinion/taste.

Night Time Skin Care Routine

  1.        Tesco Pro Formula Purifying Cleansing Wipes for oily & combination skin:
    a.     I use this to take off any makeup I have on my face.

    2.     Clean & Clear Advantage Daily Wash:
    a.     I wash my face with this facial wash using my Clarisonic Mia 2. This facial wash should only be used once a day, so in the morning I use La Roche Posay Effaclar wash

    3.     Apple Cider Vinegar Toner
    a.     For toning my face, I use a DIY toner which is made from 1 part apple cider vinegar and 1 part water.  It really helps with acne!!

    4.     Ocean Potion Skincare 100% Pure Aloe Gel
    a.     I use this instead of a moisturizer. It helps with scars.

    5.     Duac Once Daily Gel OR Differine Gel
    a.     These were dermatologically prescribed medications used to treat pimples on my face. I use them on alternating days.

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder vs. Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact Oil Free!

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder  vs. Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact Oil Free!

  1. Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder:
I did not necessarily like this product at all. When opening the product I noticed that it was rough like sandpaper and did not have a smooth application. I used this product for 2 weeks straight and I had to apply the Shiseido powder (review below) on top of it. Another downfall of this product is that it contains salicylic acid. I am aware that this helps acne and blemishes but going out in the sun with salicylic acid on your face is a brutal thing to do. There is no SPF in this powder, and I had to put a layer of sunscreen (SPF 50-- whereas I usually put SPF 20 or nothing at all). The product promises oil control, which was granted, but I may not be the best person to confirm that as it is summer and there is A/C almost everywhere!

Buy this product HERE for $13.49
  1. Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact Oil Free:
This is my holy grail product! I love this stuff! My face is super duper oily, and because of that, I always find myself with one or two pimples on my face. This stuff not only covers it up completely, it also looks natural! Unless I physically sweat the product off, this stuff stays on my face all day! Along with that, it controls oil! I recommend this stuff 100%.

Buy this product HERE for $21 and the case HERE for $9

TO CONCLUDE: Shiseido Pureness Mattifying Compact is what I would with my eyes closed. The only con is the price but the you get what you pay for! It's worth it.
